Employee Spotlight - Dave Williams
Dave Williams

Dave Williams has been with Bauer for two years and was hired as a Mechanical Engineer. Dave's engineering, leadership and language skills have been a great asset to the company. He has taken on several projects and consistently delivered successful results.

Dave was born in Chicago and has lived in several locations growing up, including Taiwan for seven years. He graduated from Clarkson University in New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. From college, his employment continued to move him about the country and to Colorado where he ventured out on his own and enjoyed the benefits from marketing and distributing his own invention for the in-line skating industry.

At the age of 28, Dave decided to join the Navy. He spent 8 years as a Submarine Warfare Officer and honed his leadership abilities while "punching holes in the ocean with nuclear power." During his time on board, he spent two months in Hawaii at dive school and is a certified US Navy Diver. During his last assignment for the Navy he was stationed in Naples, Italy for two years working for the current Chairman of the

Joint Chiefs of Staff. Dave managed to find time to start a family and decided to come to rest in Bristol and at Bauer.

Since coming on board, Dave has worked on a new product line for Bauer, Air Cycle Machine (ACM) Test Systems. The first unit has been successfully started up in his old "backyard", Guangzhou, China. He has taken the product from cradle to production. His ingenuity and resourcefulness have proven invaluable in completing the challenge. During this project, it was his ability to communicate with the customer that stood out. It was this close relationship with the customer that became the backbone of the product's success, and eventually led Dave to his new position.

In the spring, Dave will become Bauer's Customer Support Manager. Dedicating his time to the Customer Support department and continuing to develop relationships with customers. His aim will be to adjust the services offered to improve our customers' engineering capacity. "Recent developments in our customers' industry have created a very competitive field of MRO services. Several shops are forced to reduce overhead and lower costs to retain their portion of the market. Often the first to go in these companies are the engineers." It is this void of engineers that Dave is hoping to fill with Bauer's services. "We have many exceptional engineers with years of experience, they know the business, they know the equipment, and can make a big difference in our customer's bottom line." Dave has a solid plan, many big ideas, and is very enthusiastic to help support our customer base. Good luck Dave!

Dave and his wife, Christina, have four children, Nicholas, Alexander, Sarah, and Macy.
