Message From the President - Expanding the Value Channel |

![]() As we enter our 6th decade as the industry’s leading manufacturer and supplier of aircraft component test systems, we have been examining – and wish to devote this newsletter to – the ways in which we can expand our value channel in service to our customers. If we view two poles, for analytic purposes, prior and post the supply of equipment, some of the possibilities which we see are the following: Pre-equipment supply – becoming more involved in assisting our customers in planning facilities and requirements including feasibility studies in capability analysis of equipment, tooling, processes, procedures and personnel, and the integration of other equipment and service providers where appropriate. Post-equipment supply – Operator training, and where required, overhaul & repair training and assistance in locating trained personnel; |
provision of continuing service assistance in the timely supply of spare parts and service personnel; analysis of predictive and preventive maintenance; calibration services; modifications and upgrades as they become necessary and periodic seminar and brainstorming sessions at Bauer or on-site. It is certain that we require input from you, our customers and associates, as to the most useful (for you) parts of this full value channel we might consider expanding. Obviously, this needs to be an interactive process which either you, or we, could initiate. For example, one of the major engine manufacturers contacted us to consult on a project in which they were planning to consolidate operations among a few of their component repair shops. We developed an understanding of their objectives and the challenges they faced, and although this was added to their original intention, Bauer ended up accepting complete responsibility for planning and carrying out the majority of the consolidation, including condition assessments of equipment, recommendations for equipment upgrades to expand test capabilities, shop layouts, removal of equipment, transportation logistics (including international), reinstallation and re-commissioning of equipment and personnel training. Equally, we would be prepared at your request to participate in a dialogue as to where in expanding our value channel we could best be of service to you. |
