As part of a contract to provide state-of-the-art test systems for a new component repair operation covering a wide range of commercial and military engine accessories, we’ve added a newly designed Electrical Pneumatic Accessories Test Stand to our product line. The new aspects of this equipment are the test and measurement capabilities for the testing of engine ignition system components, cables and harnesses.

The ignition system components test section includes sophisticated equipment to generate user-programmable AC power for the ignition exciter, the ability to measure and monitor output voltage graphically on a digital oscilloscope and the functionality to measure output energy and spark rate.  All required high voltage test adapters are provided to connect the various Units Under Test (UUT’s) to the test stand. The test stand is equipped with an industry proven hi-pot tester to measure the leak current of ignition leads at up to 20,000 VAC or 40,000 VDC. Dedicated test adapters are included to provide safe leak current measurement of ignition leads.

The cable and harness test section includes a state-of-the-art cable and harness tester, capable of testing the continuity of cables or harnesses with up to 256 test points.  This section also measures two and four wire resistance and capacitance of the test components and performs hi-pot testing of the cables or harnesses at up to 750 VAC/VDC. The cable and harness tester has

the unique capability to automatically learn the net list of cables or harnesses, which greatly reduces the time required to program the tester. The Electrical Pneumatic Accessories Test Stand also includes capabilities to test electro-pneumatic components; such as air solenoid valves and air bleed valves. The stand is equipped with precision pressure and flow measurement instrumentation, low and high pressure controlled air sources, as well as a user-programmable DC power supply to vary solenoid power. The test stand offers a dedicated chamber for safe proof pressure testing at up to 2,000 PSIG air pressure. The test chamber has internal pneumatic and electrical test ports for convenient UUT connection.

As with most late-model Bauer test equipment, the test stand is equipped with Bauer’s powerful ADA2000 data acquisition and control software.
